DAVANGERE BENNE DOSA RECIPE WITH ALOO PALYA AND COCONUT CHUTNEY

Davangere benne dose is very famous in Davangere if you visit davangere you can’t leave the city without eating this famous dosa
it is rich in butter and even the chutney is special as we add cloves and cardamom in it.

Ingredients needed are

for preparing the dosa batter
rice – 1 1/2 cup
urad dal/uddina kaalu – 1/2 cup
methi seed – 1 tsp
avalakki/puffed rice – 2 tsp (optional)
sugar – 1/2 tsp
salt to taste

for the aloo palya –
potato – 4 to 5
onion – 2 to 3
chilli – 4 to 5
mustard seed – 1/4 tsp
few curry leaves
oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
salt to taste

for the chutney
fresh grated coconut – 1cup
green chilli – 4 to 5
cloves – 2
cardamom – 2
