This yummy treat of sweet coconut filling stuffed in rice paste, cooked in the absolutely divine aroma of haldi leaves, is something I have loved since I was a child.

I still remember how I used to wait every 15th August for my grand aunt Virgen, to send us a parcel of this yummy treat…. And then grand aunt shifted to Goa, and that forced me to learn it for myself.

Then with the help of dad, who remembered bits and pieces of how his mother used to make it, and my friends’ wonderful mothers, who filled in the blanks with the details that dad & I were not too sure about, I finally learnt it!!

So here’s presenting the Patoleos, which I am (if I am say so) very good at ??
