Gajar Halwa | Carrot Halwa

A traditional Indian dessert…. and my favourite too!!

According to my mother, I have loved this sweet ever since I was 2 years old!!

I still remember her making this gajar halwa for me year after year after year – and I especially remember the two dabbas she used to pack for me for my school picnics ?

All I can say is, I love Gajar Halwa – but only the one which is prepared by my mother (and now me)

I learnt the basics from my mother and modified it a bit – mom never added khoya or elichi or raisins n cashews…. hers was simple and basic – but it still turned out much much much tastier than mine.
