For dough
• 2 cup maida
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp oil
• Water for kneading
• Oil for greasing
for stuffing:
• ▢3 tbsp oil
• ▢ 1 chili (finely chopped)
• ▢ 4 clove garlic (finely chopped)
• ▢1 inch ginger (finely chopped)
• ▢ 3 tbsp spring onion
• ▢ ¼ cup cabbage ( finely chopped)
• ▢1 cup carrot (finely chopped)
• ▢ ¼ cup cauliflower (finely chopped)
• ▢ ¼ cup red bell pepper (finely chopped)
• ▢ ¼ cup mushroom (finely chopped)
• ▢1 tsp pepper powder
• ▢1 tsp soy sauce
• ▢1 tsp vinegar
• ▢ salt to taste
Method
1. In bowl add above said dough ingridents. Mix well and make it to a soft dough. Cover with wet cloth for half hour.
2. firstly, prepare stuffing by heating 3 tsp oil and saute chili, garlic, ginger and spring onions.
3. saute on medium flame.
4. add cabbage , carrot, cauliflower, red bell pepper and mushroom. stir fry on medium flame.
5. add pepper powder , salt, soy sauce and vinegar. Sauté it for 2 minutes. stuffing mixture is ready.
6. pinch a small ball sized momos dough and flatten.
7. now dust with some maida and start to roll using a rolling pin.
8. roll to almost medium thin circle. around 4 – 5 inch in diameter. make sure you roll from sides and keep the centre slightly thick.
9. now place 2 tbsp of prepared stuffing in the centre.
10. start pleating the edges slowly and gather everything.
11. press in middle and seal the momos forming a bundle.
12. heat a steamer and arrange the momos in the tray without touching each other.
13. steam momos for 10-15 minutes or till shiny sheen appears over it.
14. Our veg momos recipe is ready to enjoy with momos chutney.
