ulundhu pakoda in tamil/உளுந்து போண்டா /Ulundhu bonda/Urad dal Onion pakoda/உளுந்து பக்கோடா
Description :
Ingredients
1 cup urad dal
1 tbsp soake rice or 2 tbsp of rice flour
1 cup finely chopped onions
2 nos finely chopped green chillies
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
1/4 cup finely chopped curry leaves
small size finely chopped ginger
1 tsp coarsely crushed black peppercorns
Salt to taste
Oil ofr deep-frying
Method
1. Clean, wash and soak the urad dal in enough water in a deep bowl for 2 hours. Drain well.
2. Combine the urad dal and 2 tbsp of water in a mixer and blend till corse.
3. add 1 tbsp of soaked rice in the mixer also add 1 tbsp of water and blend till smooth batter.
4. Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl, add onion, green chillies,ginger,peppercorns,curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt mix well.
5. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, drop spoonful of the mixture using your fingers and deep-fry a few pakodas at a time on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
6. Serve immediately with coconut chutney.
