Senai kizangu vadai in tamil/சேனைக்கிழங்கு வடை/Senai kilangu vadai/Yam vada /Cheppan kizangu vada

Description :

Ingredients
SenaiKizhangu (yam) – 250 gram (Boiled and mashed)
Onion – 2 (chopped finely)
Grated coconut – ¼ cup
Green chilly -3 nos
Curry Leaves – 1 spring
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Garlic – 3 pods(medium sized)
Red chili Powder- 2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Fennel Seed – 1 tsp
Roasted gram powder – 1/4 cup
Salt as required
Oil to deep fry

Method:

1. Pressure cooks the peeled and washed senai kizhangu, drain the water, cool and mash it well without any lumps.

2. In a big mixing bowl add the mashed senai kilangu, onion, green chilies, ginger, garlic, grated coconut, garam masala powder, red chili powder, curry leaves, coriander leaves, roasted gram powder and salt. Mix everything together to bring the mix to a consistency to shape it into vadais.Check for salt.

3. Heat Oil in a kadai, shape the mix into desired shapes and deep fry them on medium heat till they turn brown (not black).

4. Our tastiest senai kizangu vadai is ready. serve hot.
