Description :

Method

Wash the rice. Drain the water.
Add the rice in the pressure cooker pan.
Add the milk in the rice.
Add sugar and cardamom powder.
Stir well.
Close the lid.
Place the cooker weight.
Cook till it gives out 1 whistles.(Use low to medium flame).
Let it depressurize completely.
Open the lid only after 20-30 minutes.
roast the nuts in ghee and add it in the end after you open the lid.
Notes-
You can use any other varieties of rice also.
When you open the lid and find the payasam too thick, add some boiled milk. Stir and loosen the consistency.
If its still very watery, close the lid and cook for some more time.,maybe for more number of whistles and open the lid after10-15 minutes only.
Dont use high flame as the milk may burn at the bottom of the pan.
