Ingredient
• ▢4 onion (sliced)
• ▢1 inch ginger (finely chopped)
• ▢2 chilli (finely chopped)
• ▢few curry leaves (chopped)
• ▢2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
• ▢ 2 tsp chili powder
• ▢1 tbsp fennel seeds
• ▢ salt to taste
• ▢ 1 cup besan / gram flour
• ▢¼ cup rice flour
• ▢¼ tsp baking soda
• ▢¼ cup water
• ▢oil (for frying)
Method
1. firstly, in a large bowl take onion, ginger, chilli, few curry leaves and coriander.
2. also add chili powder, fennel seeds and salt.
3. squeeze and mix well making sure the onion loses its crunchiness and everything is well combined.
4. add besan, rice flour and baking soda.
5. mix well making sure everything is well combined.
6. Now add 3 tbsp of hot oil and water.
7. mix well forming a soft dough. add water in small quantity to avoid from batter turning runny.
8. now pinch a ball sized hand and make a round shape.
9. deep fry in hot oil keeping the flame on medium.
10. stir occasionally, and fry on medium flame until the pakoda turns golden brown and crisp.
11. drain off and onion bonda is ready to serve.
