Ingredients:
Kuthiraivali / Barnyard Millet – 1 cup
Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu – 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Water – 4 cup
Ghee – 2 tbsp
sesame oil – 4 tbsp
Cumin Seeds– 1 tsp
Cashew nuts – 6 nos
Whole Pepper – 1 tbsp
Green Chillies – 3 chopped finely
Ginger – 1
Curry leaves – 3 spring
Water – 4 cups (1:2.5 ratio)
Coriander leaves
Method:
1. Wash dal and millet really well.soak atleast 20 to 30 minutes. Drain it and set aside.
2. Heat ghee & sesame oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, green chilies, ginger, cashew nuts, peppercorns sauté well.
3. Add salt and hing mix well. Now add 4 cups of water. Bring it to boil. Now add soaked barnyard millet and moong dal. Mix well. Pressure cook for 5 whistle.
4. Turn off the heat and let them steam go all by itself. Open the cooker and add coriander leave and ghee mix well.
5. Serve with sambar or chutney..
