Green tomato chutney/ஆரோக்கியமான பச்சை தக்காளி சட்னி/Healthy Raw tomato chutney

Ingredients
• 3 tbsp oil
• 300 g or 7 medium size Raw Tomato Cut into big chunks
• 7 Green chilies
• 5-6 cloves Garlic
• 3 tbsp chana dal
• Salt to taste
• Small amout of Tamarind
• ¼ tsp turmeric powder
For the tempering
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1 tsp Chana Dal
• 1 tsp Urad Dal
• Curry leaves
• 2 red chilies
Method
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Once the oil is hot, add chana dal and sauté till dal turn golden
brown. Set aside
3. In the same pan add tomato and green chilies, garlic, turmeric powder and cook for 2 minutes until tomatoes are charred and nicely cooked. Allow it to cool.
4. Transfer the tomatoes and chilies in the jar of a blender.
5. Add chana dal, salt and tamarind and grind to make a smooth chutney.
6. Add little water if required.
7. For the tempering, heat 1 tbsp oil in a small pan.
8. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal and curry leaves, red chilies and let the dal turn brown.
9. Pour the tempering over the chutney.
10. Serve with idli, dosa and rice
