Chana dal sundal / Navarathiri prasadam recipe / Kadalai paruppu sundal / Bengal gram sundal

Ingredients
Chana dal / Bengal gram/Kadalai paruppu -1 cup
Water as required
Salt to taste
Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
Sesame oil – 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves

For the seasoning

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Red chilli – 4 nos
Curry leaves – few
Hing – a pinch

Method

1. Soak Chana dal for 2 hours. Pressure cook dal with needed salt and required water for 2 whistles. The dal should be soft but not mushy. If there is water, drain it and keep it aside.

2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add red chilies, curry leaves and hing.

3. Saute well then add the cooked kadalai paruppu and mix it well.

4. Switch off the flame.

5. Add grated coconut and coriander leaves mix well.

6. Our healthy navarathiri special kadalai paruppu sundal is ready!!!!
