Aracha paruppu kulambu/பருப்பு அரைச்ச சாறு/Toor dal curry/Village style araitha paruppu kulambu/

Ingredients

Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
Toor dal – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 10 pods
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Red chilies – 4 nos
Tomato – 2 nos
Shallots – 10 nos
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Hing – a pinch
Oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt as required
water – 1 1/2 cup

Method

1. Soak 2 tbsp of toor dal 1/2 hours

2. In a mixer jar add grated coconut, garlic, cumin seeds, red chilies and tomato grind it fine paste. then add soaked toor dal and shallots grind it coarsely.

3. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds when they splutters add curry leaves saute few minutes then add ground masala and water mix it well.

4.add turmeric powder and salt mix well. add more water if required cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame until raw smell goes off.

5. then add hing and coriander leaves mix it well and switch off the flame.

6. Our Aracha paruppu kulambu is ready. serve with rice, idly, dosa and kali.
