முருங்கை கீரை சூப் / Murungai keerai soup / Drumstick leaves soup / ஆரோக்கியமான முருங்கை கீரை சூப்

Ingredient

• 2 cups drumstick leaves
• 10 Shallots
• 3 clove garlic
• Small piece ginger
• 2 tsp pepper
• 1 tsp cumin seeds
• 1 tomato
• ¼ tsp turmeric powder
• 2 cups water
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp sesame oil

Method

1. Pluck the drumstick leaves from the stem and set aside. If the leaves are tender then the tiny stems can be added too. Rinse it well twice and drain water. Set aside.

2. In a mixer jar add shallots, garlic, ginger, peppercorns, cumin seeds and tomato. Grind roughly using pulse mode.

3. Heat oil in a kadai add crushed ingredients. Sauté till tomatoes turn mushy and raw smell leaves.

4. Now add cleaned drumstick leaves. Saute for 5 until the raw smell leaves.

5. Add water and let it boil for a good 5 mins.

6. Add hing mix well and switch off the flame.

7. Our healthiest drumstick leaves soup is ready to drink.

Notes

• You can filter the soup alone and give for kids below 5yrs incase if they find it hard to chew the leaves.
