Description :
INGREDIENTS:
Basmati Rice, cooked – 1 cup
Red Cabbage (or) white cabbage grated – 250 gram
Shallots – ¼ cup
Garlic – 6 pods
Green chilies – 4 nos
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt – as needed
To temper
Oil – 2 tsp
Mustard seeds– 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Chana dal – 1 tsp
METHOD
1. Grate cabbage using a sharp mandoline slicer. If not, you can choose to use knife to cut into thin strips or finely chop too.
2. Heat a pan with oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add cumin seeds and chana dal. Let it roast crisp.
3. Add Green chilies and 6 pods of very finely chopped garlic. Add finely chopped shallots and stir fry for a minute.
4. Add grated cabbage and required salt. Mix well for a minute.
5. Cook for 5 minutes in medium flame until cabbage is cooked.
6. Add cooked rice mix well.
7. Finally add 1 tsp of pepper powder and coriander leaves mix well. Switch off flame.
8. Our tasty cabbage rice is ready to eat. Serve hot.
