Description :

INGREDIENTS:
• Maida / All purpose flour – 2 cup
• Thick curd – 1cup
• Powder Sugar – 1/4cup
• Baking soda – 1 tsp
• Ghee – 1 tbsp
• Oil – for deep frying
FOR SUGAR SYRUP:
• Sugar – 1 cup
• Water – 1 cup
• Cardamom – 4 nos

METHOD:

1. In a mixing bowl add Maida flour, powder sugar, Curd, ghee and baking soda. Mix everything together without lumps.

2. The batter has to be sticky and thick enough to hold shape. It should be thicker than idli batter. Cover and rest it for 30 minutes.

3. Meanwhile prepare sugar syrup. Add sugar and water to a pan and boil it in low flame for 5 minutes. No need of any consistency. Add cardamom and switch off.

4. Heat oil for frying. Drop a small portion of batter to check temperature, it has to rise to top immediately.

5. Wet the hands in water and take small portion of batter, make balls and drop into hot oil. Simmer the flame and fry until it turns golden brown on all sides.

6. Remove from oil, drain excess oil in tissues and drop the balls in batches into warm sugar syrup. Allow it to be soaked for 5 minutes and remove from syrup.

7. Garnish with grated cashews and almonds

8. The delicious paal bun is ready to serve.
