Description :
INGREDIENTS
FOR SUGAR SYRUP:
• 2 cup sugar
• 2 cup water
• 1 tsp cardamom powder
• 2 tbsp lemon juice
FOR BREAD GULAB JAMUN:
• 10 slices bread, white bread
• 5 – 6 tbsp milk, warm
• 1 tsp ghee
• oil for deep frying
Method
SUGAR SYRUP:
1. In a wide pan add water and get to a boil.
2. Add sugar and mix well.
3. then simmer for 15 minutes till the sugar syrup turns slightly sticky.
4. now add cardamom powder.
5. also add lemon juice to stop crystallization process.
6. cover and keep aside.
BREAD GULAB JAMUN :
1. cut the sides of 10 bread slices.
2. blend to fine powder like breadcrumbs.
3. slowly add warm milk little by little and knead to a smooth and soft dough.
4. Set aside for 10 minutes.
5. make small balls greasing ghee to hands.
6. make sure there are no cracks on balls.
7. heat the oil on low flame to medium flame and when the it is moderately hot, fry the jamuns.
8. fry the balls on low flame stirring in between.
9. fry till the balls turns golden brown.
10. Allow to cool completely.
11. drop the jamuns into hot sugar syrup.
12. cover the lid and rest for ½ hour.
13. bread gulab jamuns have doubled in size. serve warm with few chopped nuts.
