இட்லிக்கு சூப்பரான சின்ன வெங்காயச் சட்னி / Onion chutney
Description :
Ingredients
Shallot / small onion – 1 cup
Sesame oil – 2 tbsp
Red chilies – 6 nos
Tamarind – small piece
Salt to taste
For tempering
Sesame oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Red chili – 2 nos
Chana dal – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Method
1. Heat the sesameoil lower flame.Add the onion and saute till light brown,add the red chilies and salt.
2. Saute till completely cooked.the rawness of the onions should go away. Otherwise you will get the raw aroma of the onion in the chutney.
3. Cool this onion and then grind in a chutney grinder with tamarind. add little water while grinding.
4. Check the taste and add some more salt or tamarind if required and continue to grind to a smooth chutney. pour the chutney in a serving bowl
5. You can temper the chutney with mustard seeds,urad dal, channa dal,red chilly and curry leaves.
6. Serve onion chutney with idly, Dosa and Paniyaram
