Description :

Ingredients

½ kg Chicken
2 cups seeraga samba rice
1 bay leaf
4 inch cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
3 green cardamoms
1 marati mokku
1 tbsp ghee
4 tbsp oil
2 sliced onions
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 Handful coriander leaves
1 Handful mint leaves
20 red chilies soaked in water
2 tomatoes
¼ cup curd
2 tbsp Lemon juice
3 cup water (1:1.5 ratio)

Method

1. Wash and soak rice for 30 mins. Drain and set aside.

2. Soak red chilies for about an hour. Make a fine paste with little water used for soaking.

3. Heat Ghee & oil in a pan and saute Bay leaf, marati mokku, cinnamon, cloves and cardamoms

4. Add 1 onion and saute for 1 to 2 mins.

5. Sauté ginger garlic paste for a minute .

6. Add chicken and fry on a low to medium heat until the chicken turns pale or white.

7. Add tomatoes and fry until they turn very soft and mushy.

8. Add 1 onion and fry for 2 to 3 mins until they turn transparent.

9. Add the red chilli paste and saute everything together until oil begins to separate.

10. Add coriander leaves and mint. Saute until it begins to smell good. This may take about 2 mins.

11. Add curd, lemon juice and salt.

12. Add required water and bring water to boil

13.now add soaked rice mix well. Cover and cook it for 15 minutes in medium flame or pressure cook for 2 whistles in low medium flame.
