Ingredients:
Ravai (sooji) – 1 cup
onion – 1/4 cup chopped
carrot – 1/4 cup chopped
green peas – 1/4 cup
tomato – 1 small size chopped
coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons chopped
ginger – 2 tablespoons (finely chopped)
green chillies – 3 slit into 4 pieces each
curry leaves – few
chopped cashewnuts – 3 tablespoons
channa dal (kadalai paruppu) – 2 tablespoons
mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
salt – 1 teaspoon
turmeric powder – 1/3 teaspoon

Method:
1. Dry roast the rava in a pan for 2 minutes and keep it aside ready.
2. Next in the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and when it is hot, add the mustard seeds and when it cracks well, add the channa dal and cahewnuts.
3. When the cashewnuts turn golden colour, add the curry leaves, chopped ginger. green chillies and fry for a minute.
4. When the raw small of the ginger is gone, add the chopped onions, carrots, peas, tomato and fry for 2 minutes in medium flame.
5. After 2 minutes, close it with a lid and cook in low flame for 4 minutes.
6. Now open the lid and add salt, turmeric powder and 3 cups of water and allow it to come to a boil.
7. Once it starts boiling, add the roasted rava and mix it well and close it with a lid and cook in medium flame for 2 minutes.
8. Open the lid and mix it well and cook without lid if there is still any water left.
9. Once all the water is absorbed, add the chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
10. Hot and tasty rava bhath is ready to serve. It goes well with coconut chutney
