Ingredients : (to serve 2-3 people)
Cabbage – 1½ cups chopped
Moong dal – 2 teaspoon
Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- 1/8 teaspoon
Mustard seed – 1/2 teaspoon
Dry Red Chilli – 2 to 3
Curry leaves – few

Method:
1. Add the chopped cabbage in a pressure cooker along with the moong dal, which we have soaked for 15-20 minutes.
2. Also add 1/4th cup of water and pressure cook for maximum of 2 whistles.
3. When the pressure settles down, open the lid and add salt and turmeric powder and mix it well.
4. In another small pan, add 1 tablespoon of oil and when it is hot, add the mustard seeds and when it cracks, add the dry red chillies and curry leaves and fry for 5 seconds.
5. Pour the tempering over the prepared cabbage mixture and mix well.
6. Cabbage koottu is ready to serve and it goes excellent with rice and sambar or rasam.
