Here is the recipe for bengali nolen gurer payesh. Its a bengali version of kheer or payasam and is a must for every sweet lover during winter season. Its prepared using the seasonal date plam jaggery which has a very unique aroma and flavor.

Ingredients:-

Milk – 1 litre
bayleaf (tej patta) – 1
cardamom – 4-5 pods
govindabhog rice – 4 tablespoons or 60 grams
nolen / patali gur – 1 cup or 200 grams
chopped nuts and raisins – handful
