Ingridients
1 cup makhana (lotus seed)
1 tbsp ghee or oil
2 tsp red chili powder
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp pepper powder
salt to taste

Method

1. Put the ghee in the kadai on low heat, add red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, pepper powder and salt. mix well quickly. Do not burn the spices.

2. add 1 cup of Makhana. Roast them on very low heat for 4-5 minutes until they are crisp, keep stirring them in between so that Makhana does not burn. Roast till the spices are well coated.

3. To check if they are roasted properly just take one Phool makhana in hand and crush it. If it breaks nicely with a crunching sound that means they are perfectly roasted.

4. Let the Makhana cool to room temperature. You can serve it right away or store in airtight container for later use.
