Most of the food here are made keeping the Indian Palette in consideration to keep the recipe as authentic as possible, although these foods may be what any South Asian may relish. It’s important to keep in mind the spices used must be taken into account by the viewer and cook according to their threshold, preference and health conditions.

With that out of the way, today we will see how to prepare

Onion Chutney

Ingredients:
Onions : 2
Oil : 2 tsp
Green chillies: 3
Coriander leaves: handful finely chopped
Asafetida :1/4 tsp
Jaggery powder :1/2 tsp
Ground nut : 2 tbsp
Cumin :1 tsp
Mustard :1/2 tsp
Tamarind : a small lemon size
Bengal gram dal : 1 tsp
Urud dal : 1 tsp
Red chili 1
Salt to taste.
Procedure:
Take a kadai add oil, mustard, cumin seeds, bengal gram dal and urud dal and saute till the dals change color. To this add ground nuts and asafetida and stir till the ground nuts are roasted. Now add green chilies, red chilies and onions and saute till the onions become transparent. To this add soaked tamarind and coriander leaves. Add salt and mix well. Put off the stove and allow it to cool and transfer this to a mixer jar. To this add the jaggery powder and grind it to a smooth paste. Tasty and spicy onion chutney is ready. Serve it with dosa or rice.
