Description :

Cooked rice – 1 ½ glass
Wheat flour – as needed
Potato – 1 large, boiled
Grated coconut – a little
Coconut flakes (optional)
Onion – ½ large
Curry leaves
Cumin seeds – a little
Green chilly – as per taste
Chili powder – as per taste
Garam masala – optional
Salt – to taste
Oil

Hi everyone, today I am here with an easy and delicious snack recipe using leftover rice..

To prepare the snack, first add 1 ½ glass of cooked rice into a large mixing bowl and mash the rice really well using your hand.
Do not use a mixer grinder or a blender to mash the rice, do this with your hand.. when you do this with your hand, a few grains of the cooked rice will remain the same, let it be because this will add more taste to the snack..

When the rice is all mashed, add one large boiled potato and mashed together with the rice with your hand as well..

Next, add finely chopped green chilies as per your taste preference, a few curry leaves, some cumin seeds, some grated coconut, some chilli powder as per your taste preference and garam masala if you like its taste or you can skip garam masala..
Finally, add some salt to taste and mix everything really well..

Next, add around 2 to 3 tablespoons of wheat flour or rice flour or plain flour to bind the mixture into a dough which has a consistency that doesn’t stick to the mixing bowl.

When the dough is ready, heat a small pan and add some oil and roast some coconut flakes until the coconut flakes turn brown in colour and then add the coconut flakes along with a little oil used to fry it into the dough and carefully incorporate the oil and the coconut flakes into the dough..

Once the door is ready, transfer it onto a steel plate which has been greased with some oil and spread it into an even layer and leave it in the refrigerator to cool down and set a little.

After around 10 to 15 minutes, take it out and cut it with a knife into desired shapes.
It is kept in the refrigerator to get a nice finish to the edges.

After cutting this into small pieces, into the same pan add some more oil and shallow fry these on both sides until golden and crispy..

Once they turn golden brown on both the sides, remove from oil and transfer into a serving plate..!!
The snacks taste incredible and similar to hash browns.
