Pineapple Raita | How to make Pineapple Raita | Pineapple Recipes| Cooking Addiction Goa.

Pineapple Raita is a dish where yogurt (Dahi) Is mixed with a few spices and pineapple chunks. It is a very common Indian accompaniment or a side dish which is served in most of the indian restaurants. This raita is perfect to cool down your body during this summer season. Do try this pineapple raita at home and trust me, you and your family are going to love it.

■Ingredients & Quantity
Fresh Pineapple (Cut into med cubes) – 2 cups (500 gms)
Thick Curd (Dahi) – 2 cups
Red Chilli Powder – 1/4 tsp
Roasted Cumin Powder (Jeera) – 1/4 tsp
Black Pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
Chaat Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
Fresh Mint leaves (Chopped) – 1 tbsp
Table salt or black salt – 1/4 tsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Pomegranate arils – 1/4 cup (optional)

■ Method,
1) Cut the pineapple into medium cubes and set aside.
2) Add thick curd in a bowl and whisk it till creamy.
3) Add Red chilli powder, Black Pepper Powder, Roasted Cumin powder, Chaat masala Powder, Table Salt/Black Salt, fresh mint leaves, Pomegranate arils, Mix well and Refrigerate before serving.

Note :
* If you don’t get fresh pineapple you can use canned pineapple as well.
* This raita may get bitter after some time because it contains an enzyme called bromelain which reacts with dairy products. This can be avoided by cooking the pineapple but i prefer adding it directly to the curd mixture because this raita will finish in no time?
*This raita will taste much better if its chilled before serving.
