Pepper Rasam (Milagu )
INGREDIENTS
Garlic – 2 Pods (Separated & Peeled)
Tamarind Paste – 1 1/2 Tsp
Or Lemon sized Tamarind Soaked & Squeezed
Water – 3 Cups
Salt – As required
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Grated Jaggery – 1 Tsp (Optional)

Crushed Together:
Dhania (Coriander Seeds) – 1 1/2 Tsps
Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – 3/4 Tsp
Red Chillies – 2
Pepper – 1/2 Tsp
Curry Leaves – 1 Spring

For Tampering:
Oil – 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 Tsp
Asafoetida Powder – 2 Pinches

METHOD
1. Separate and peel garlic. cook in enough water to which add little turmeric powder.
2. Crush the mentioned ingredients together in small mixie.
3.When garlic turns soft add diluted tamarind extract, salt, jaggery.
4. Add crushed ingredients when it boils.
5. Allow to boil once. Tamper mustard seeds in hot oil, add asafoetida, curry leaves and pour over rasam.
6. Close with lid immediately. Serve hot with cooked rice.
