Aval Dosai (Rice Flakes Dosa)
INGREDIENTS
Raw Rice – 2 Cups
Par Boiled Rice (Idli Rice) – 2 Cups
Black Gram Dhal (Urad) – 1/2 Cup
Rice Flakes (Aval/Poha) – 1 Cup
Salt – 4 Tsps
Oil – As Required.

METHOD
1. Wash and soak raw rice, par boiled rice, dhal together for 3 hours.
2. Wash rice flakes properly. Add just enough water to soak for 1 hour.
3. Grind everything together to smooth dosa batter consistency.
4. Add salt at the end, just before taking out from grinder.
5. Allow to ferment for 15 hours or until next day morning.
6. Heat a dosa pan. Pour one ladle full of batter in the centre.
7. Spread to form a dosa. Add 1/2 Tsp of oil around and close with a lid. (Cook one side only)
8. Do not turn over.
9. Serve with chutney/sambhar or kurma.
