SAGO IDLY / PROBIOTIC INDIAN FOOD
Probiotic gluten free Indian diet
Ingredients:
Rice rawa -3 cups
Fine Sago – 1 cup
Thick, sour buttermilk – 3 cups
Salt – as required
Soaked bengal gram dhal – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Green chillies – 2 (chopped)
Cashew nuts – little
Grated coconut – 2 tsp
Cooking soda – ½ tsp
Oil – 3 tsp
Methods:
1. Soak rice rawa, sago together in sour buttermilk over night.
2. Next day morning add salt, coconut, cooking soda, soaked bengal gram dhal.
3. Heat oil, tamper mustard seeds, green chillies and pour over batter.
4. Mix well. Apply oil to idli plates. Keep a cashewnut in the centre and fill the batter.
5. Steam cook for 10 minutes.
6. Serve with any chutney.
